Stephenville

MI'KMAW CULTURAL FOUNDATION

The Mi’kmaw Cultural Foundation is a provincial charitable organization headquartered in Stephenville, Newfoundland & Labrador, dedicated to promoting, protecting, and revitalizing Mi’kmaw culture, language, and heritage across Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland). Through educational programs, land-based gatherings, and artistic initiatives, the Foundation creates meaningful spaces for cultural expression, intergenerational learning, and community connection. Projects such as Ktaqmkuk Rising, foster youth leadership, environmental stewardship, and Mi’kmaw language revitalization.
In addition to its cultural and educational work, the Foundation is developing social enterprise initiatives designed to strengthen economic self-determination and create sustainable opportunities for Mi’kmaw communities. Working in partnership with local organizations, Elders, and knowledge keepers, the Foundation is committed to ensuring Mi’kmaw traditions continue to thrive for future generations while advancing reconciliation and social innovation across the province.

CENTRE FOR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

Memorial University's Centre for Social Enterprise was created to be different.

Built on a unique collaboration between the Faculty of Business Administration, the School of Social Work and the School of Music, we strive to enhance the quality of the human experience through social enterprise and social innovation. We come together in innovative ways to nurture social entrepreneurs, strengthen social enterprises and drive social innovation throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Together we value an economy of care.

Corner Brook

CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI), located in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a collaborative initiative founded by Grenfell Campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland, the College of the North Atlantic (CNA), and Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited (CBPPL). CRI serves as a hub for fostering research, creativity, and innovation, providing researchers, entrepreneurs, and professionals with the resources and support needed to explore new ideas, advance knowledge, and drive meaningful change.
